Neti Pot Salt

What is Neti Pot Salt

What is the difference between Neti Pot Salt and regular table salt?

In fact there is a small difference that means a lot. Some may say, "Neti pot salt, table salt... same difference". While there are some companies that use regular salt and call it neti pot salt. My personal opinion is that you look elsewhere for other salt. Your nose, sinuses and overall health will thank you.

Primarily it is non-iodized salt. Iodization is something that companies do to salt when processing it, they say it has to do with killing certain bacteria and at the same time they say that it is a needed nutrient. To make a long story short, if you never ate iodized table salt again, nothing would ever be lost if you just used healthy, natural unprocessed sea salt.

So the original intention of neti pot salt was to give you something that is as natural as possible because you need the effects of the salt and in this case not iodization, bleaching or anything else hence the reason for neti pot salt being sold in jars, bags and small packets and companies not saying just use table salt.

Saline Solution: Saline (Salt & Water) is the same type of solution that is well known in the medical field for flushing wounds, inner body organs during surgical operations and many other things. Saline works perfectly with the body, internally and externally. Neti pot salt is actually a saline solution and you'll be doing what a doctor would with your nasal passage.

You'll be flushing a dirty or infected area of the body to clean it and wash away the bad stuff (allergens, dust, dirt, phlegm, pollen, airborne irritants and whatever else me find it's way up there to cause you discomfort.

So neti pot salt can be thought of in a much different way as table salt. Table salt, during an emergency can be used but when you have the choice please use either natural sea salt or the neti pot salt pre-made packets and you'll be fine.

Always remember to use as clean of a water source as possible. Try your best NOT to use tap water unless the area you live in has been known to have exceptionally good tap water. If possible use non-chlorinated or purified water and add the neti pot salt.

Happy rinsing.
